Cliff has over 25 years of experience in executive search and has successfully completed searches in a wide variety of industries ranging from Technology to Venture Capital to Real Estate. Within Technology, there is a focus in semiconductors, software/SaaS, e-Commerce and internet advertising based businesses.

Recent Technology CFO searches include: Beceem Communications, Coremetrics, Data Domain, DivX Networks, Mimosa, MSC Software (Symphony Technology Group Company), Pandora Internet Radio, Successfactors, Webroot and The Lending Club. Recent Venture Capital searches include the CFO/Administrative Partners for Northgate Capital, LightSpeed VC, Opus Capital, Prospect Ventures, and Redpoint. Real Estate searches include the CFO searches for DPR Construction, The Marcus and Millichap Group and Prudential Reality of Northern California and Texas.

Prior to the formation of KarrScheffel, LLC, Cliff was the Managing Director of the Search Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Northern California for 8 years. While at PwC he was a part of the Venture Services Group serving the search needs of many early stage venture backed start-ups. Earlier in his career, he was a project manager for Southern Pacific Dev. Company, which became the Catellus Corp. At SPD, he managed the development of several commercial properties and as a principal has developed several residential projects.

Cliff earned his CPA credential and worked at Deloitte and Touche after graduation from the University of San Francisco. He has been active in several community organizations and was a founding member on the Board of the Walnut Creek/Contra Costa Council leadership development program and is a past Board member of the Education Foundation of Orinda.
